my favorite makeup products for glowy dewy skin
my go-to essentials I can’t live without for an everyday look that feels like second-skin.
I remember when I was little, I was always so fascinated watching my mom put her makeup on every morning. I loved seeing what colors and products she chose. It was soothing to watch but also felt like I was in on a secret. And if you really think about it, a person’s everyday makeup routine says a lot about someone.
The type of look, products, and techniques you choose to use everyday define your type of beauty mindset. Do you love a matte look? Are you someone who loves a dewy no makeup-makeup look? Or are you a person who switches it up every single day? Whatever you choose, beauty personalities are real.
My everyday beauty identity has always been defined by dewy, glowy, and natural. I really relate to Glossier’s slogan: skin first, makeup second. For inspo, I love looking at what makeup routine Mary Phillips created for Hailey Bieber (the queen of glazed skin) or French girl makeup on Pinterest. It’s that intentional hot mess look that I love. It just feels effortless, sophisticated, and timeless. And I have to say (seriously ask my friends), I have always felt the most confident naked. My skin, I mean (and maybe more). I just love showing off my skins’s natural glow and texture. There’s nothing more beautiful to me than a person who can head out the door with minimal makeup and a natural flush. Now that’s chic.
But I’m all about creating the effect of no makeup-makeup for my everyday routine. I want it to be quick and easy so I’m not late for a meeting, but still enhanced enough to brighten up my natural features so I don’t actually look like just a mess (minus the hot).
So with the dewy, natural glow in mind as my makeup identity, here is my current everyday makeup routine I keep tweaking through the years as I learn more and more about my beauty routine.
Skin Prep
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré
I did say I love French girl makeup. This mouistrizer is my holy grail and can be found in any makeup artist’s kit backstage at fashion week (I have proof).
KOSAS SunBeam
I keep trying to find a replacement for this sunscreen, just to make absolute sure that this can’t be that life-changing. But nothing compares to this glowy SPF. I love how hydrated it keeps my skin and gives me that inner glow under my makeup.
espressoh. Dewy Latte
I saw this on TikTok and right when it was applied to skin I knew I had to have it. The brand describes it as a moisturizer and glow booster and to use it as the last step in your skincare routine right before makeup. It leaves a light dewy finish and has caffeine in it for an extra plumping boost!
The Base
Tower28 SunnyDays SPF30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation
I have been on the search for the perfect skin tine for years and I found her. It has the perfect second-skin look with just the right amount of dew and glow. It also has a surprising amount of coverage for being a tinted sunscreen - the product evens my skin tone for a flawless everyday finish. My favorite skin makeup product ever.
Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint
I think I’ve always been a little intimidated by the higher price points from Hourglass. But after seeing this skin tint tested on TikTok, I couldn’t resist. It’s well worth the investment. A perfect sheer foundation for a natural looking, luxurious glow.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter
No surprise here. This product is the epitome of inner glow. Not only that it blurs and smoothes your skin for honestly, that Hollywood-looking filter. A forever staple.
U Beauty The SUPER Tinted Hydrator
Hear me out. I know this costs $108 and you might be reading this like “is this girl crazy.” Well yes, I am. But when I find a brand I trust, I pay up. And U Beauty is one of them. Their cult favorite Hydrator is now tinted and wow I’m impressed. I pull it out for special occasions when I want that Quiet Luxury beauty look. I feel lavish, expensive, yet hydrated AF. Talk about second-skin. The color just melts into your skin for the perfect match.
The Bronzer
I have three bronzers that I swear by for my everyday makeup routine. I love starting with a creamy contour stick then setting the cream with a powder. It creates that sunkissed glow without looking too oily or shiny.
Merit Beauty Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer
This is my holy grail for everyday contouring. I love the sheer finish because it’s buildable if you want more of a bronzed glow, but sheer enough for a natural hint. Not to mention, the most blendable, creamy product. I love the color Leo for summer and I go for Seine for winter.
Westman Atelier
For a lux product that you’ll want forever in your rotation, I love the Westman Atelier Face Trace Cream Contour Stick. Created by makeup artist Gucci Westman, it’s a clean beauty product that is so creamy and has a satin finish. If you like a more cool toned bronzer, this one is for you. I use the shade Biscuit.
Gucci Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer
Maybe I’ve been out of the loop, but I feel like Gucci makeup have been a little underrated. Yes it’s more expensive, but the products are very high quality. This bronzer is my finishing touch that blurs fine lines and pores and sets my contouring perfectly.
The Blush
My favorite step in my everyday makeup routine! When I was in college, I didn’t really get the whole blush concept (or makeup in general… tough times). As I get older, I realized my mom was right when she kept telling me “you need some color in your skin!”. Thankfully I listened and added a very important blush step. I tend to go for blush products that are creamy and melt into your skin for a very natural flush.
Merit Beauty Flush Balm Cream Blush
The name of this blush has all the key words I just mentioned for my dream blush. I am obsessed with this product. It melts into your skin and really does look like a natural flush. I apply with my fingers for that French girl hot mess type of look. My favorite color is Fox (pictured right).
MAKEUP BY MARIO Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil
This could take the top spot for my favorite blushes ever. It’s made with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. I also love the sheerness to it, making it easily buildable. It has the most beautiful, natural finish that really looks like your glowing from within. My favorite shade is Just Peachy (pictured right).
NARS Afterglow Liquid Blush
Yes I was influenced by Alix Earle. There’s a reason this blush keeps going viral - people keep coming back for more. It’s skincare-infused and transfer-resistant, which means you’ll be naturally glowing all day long. I know Orgasm is the viral shade but I love Brazen for a coral peachy finish.
The Highlight
I sometimes skip this step and regret it later. So this is me reminding myself to remember the highlight! I love highlighter products that look more like glass skin for a natural glow on the cheekbones compared to an intentional placement type of look with powder.
Glossier Haloscope Balm Dewy Highlighter Stick
I couldn’t write a post on dewy skin without mentioning Glossier - the brand who took dew to the mainstream. This is one of my favorite products from the brand. The middle of the stick has a sheer palm made from coconut and castor seed oil, which blends seamlessly with the outer highlighting product. It creates that dewy, glass sheen.
Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator
I know a lot of people who use this as a makeup prep base for glowy skin. But I’m more of a fan using this as a highlighter on my cheekbones. I use a sponge and just dab, dab, dab for a sunkissed glowy finish that looks so natural in the light.
Westman Atelier Lit Up Glow Highlighter Stick
If you really want glass skin, this is the product for you. It’s probably my most used highlighter in this bunch because it’s so easy to use and has serious highlighting power. My favorite color is the Lit for a glassy iridescent glow.
The Eyes & Brows
This post is really dedicated to the skin part of my makeup routine for a natural glow. However, I thought it was only right to finish off the routine with my favorite eye products. Since this is my everyday routine, I usually go really light on the eyes (I’ll save more of my favorite eye products in a later post).
Kosas Brow Pop Nano Eyebrow Pencil
This brow pencil is absolutely necessary for anyone who wants the most natural looking strokes for your brows. I never liked the whole dark, overdrawn brow look. The extremely thin tip of the pencil allows me to create wispy, hair-like details to my brows.
NYX Brow Glue Eyebrow Gel
It’s under $10 and one of the best eyebrow gels I’ve used. While the name says glue, it doesn’t feel sticky but it has the staying power of glue. My favorite part is the really small brush because it helps me really get every hair and flush up my brows to perfection.
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot
Fun fact: this was the first eyeshadow I ever bought. And I’m still using it. Which means you know this product is tried-and-true. It lasts all day and I love how creamy the application is. My favorite color to just add a natural glimmer to the eyes for everyday is Bare Study (left) or Groundwork.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara
Another viral product on the list. My usual go-to black mascara is the Lancôme Lash Idôle, but for everyday makeup glow, I love using a brown mascara. It’s less drama and more natural looking so all the focus is on your dewy skin.
The Setting Step
I am guilty of forgetting to set my makeup… I know I know. What’s the point if you don’t set it? I’m learning here people. To finish it off, I stand by these two products:
Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Talc-Free Vegan Powder
When I want dewy glowy skin, I get a little nervous setting my face with too much powder. But I’ve learned it is very necessary so you don’t look like you have an oily, shiny face. I love this Kosas one because it’s sheer and lightweight so it takes away the shine without the dew. I place it under my eyes and just in the zones that get too oily.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
I have restocked this product in my makeup cabinet quite a few times by now. This one is so hydrating (dry skin girlie here) and doesn’t contain any alcohol or oil. The finish is just like the Hollywood filter - flawless.
And that’s it! Dewy, glowy, flawless skin for an everyday natural makeup look. Comment below your go-to products for dewy skin! xx
